 E-Sert® inserts are precisely formed screw thread coils used to make stronger stainless steel internal screw threads by being installed into parent materials of such soft metals as aluminum, die-casted materials of zinc and aluminum alloys and plastics. The E-Sert® inserts are the best for applications which require repeated assembly and disassembly and the resultant higher durability.

INSERT SHAPE

STANDARD INSERT

The E-Sert® inserts are worked into a diamond shape. The inserts have flexibility which compensates for variation in lead and angle error, allowing each coil to carry its share of the load. As a result, the E-Sert® installed threads allow for strengthened assemblies, as the inherent flexibility of the insert offers a more balanced distribution of dynamic and static loads throughout the length of thread engagement.

SCREW-LOCK INSERT

While the standard E-Sert® inserts provide a smooth free-running thread, the screw-lock inserts have one or two polygonal coils which grip a screw and a bolt, preventing it from loosening under vibration and/or impact.

INSERT MATERIAL

The E-Sert® inserts are made of 18-8 stainless steel (equivalent to SUS304), of which surface hardness is HRC43~50, tensile strength is approximately 1,000Mpa or more, surface coarseness is 3S or below with recommendation of being used under the temperature of 400°c or below.

For non-magnetic, excellent electrical conductivity, inserts made of phosphor bronze (equivalent to C5191WH with tensile strength of 700Mpa or more) are also available.

Inconel X750 inserts are available for applications exposed to high temperatures of 400~500°c. SUS316 inserts are available for superior corrosion resistance.

ACCURACY (CLASS OF FIT)

Since the E-Sert (Heli-Sert) inserts are flexible, the class of fit of the final assembly is a function of the tapped hole. Namely, if tapped with a class 2B E-Sert tap, you can make the internal screw thread of class 2B with the installation of an E-Sert (Heli-Sert) insert, same as if tapped with a class 3B E-Sert tap. The E-Sert inserts which meet MS (Military Standard) and MA (Military Standard for metric size) specifications are also available.

E-Sert (Heli-Sert) screw-lock insert permits the installation of the lock from the front or the top in the inaccessible  or miniaturized assemblies. No blind fumbling for assembly of lock washers or lock nuts from behind or underneath.
